UTAR athletes at Dataran Lang, Langkawi

Organised by UTAR Department of Student Affairs Sports and Recreation Unit (DSA SRU), the Sports Exchange was held at different locations in Penang and Langkawi from 23 September 2017 to 27 September 2017.

The sports event was aimed to promote the exchange of experience and understanding by having friendly matches among athletes. UTAR’s athletes represented the university to play in various sports such as badminton, basketball, table tennis and futsal which was held at the respective university, community college and club.

The sports exchange officially commenced at 7.40pm in the TAR UC Club House and Sports Facilities on the first day, followed by a friendly match between basketball players on the next day at Youngster Basketball Club Court, Penang. The badminton and futsal matches between UTAR and Kolej Komuniti Langkawi took place on the fourth day. Meanwhile, the UTAR basketball team and table tennis team had a friendly match with SJKC Chung Hwa and Langkawi Table Tennis Association respectively.

Besides the sports activities, trips to the Bukit Bendera, Langkawi SkyCab and Oriental Village were organised for the athletes. On the fifth day, UTAR teams took some time to linger in Padang Besar before heading back to Sungai Long.
