After the successful grand launch ceremony on 11 July 2018, followed by a series of entrepreneurial experience and practical courses, “One Belt, One Road” Global Chinese Youth Innovation Camp came to an end on 20 July 2018 in Beijing.

The training camp was attended by 30 outstanding university students and entrepreneurial youths, including 13 participants from Malaysia. It was funded by Hong Kong King Wai Group Company Limited (香港经纬集团捐资). It was organised by the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE)-Bauhinia Valley Innovation Development Center (对外经济贸易大学紫荆谷创新创业发展辅导中心) along with its co-organiser Standard Research and Training Institute (香港标准研训院).  The camp aimed to enhance the participants’ entrepreneurial ability and expand their horizons.

UTAR Master of Engineering Science student Chong Sin Ran and Doctor of Philosophy student Long Yew Foo won the first and the second place in the roadshow of the Bauhinia Valley Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Project respectively. Their projects were recognised by China’s well-known entrepreneurial mentors and experts. The third winner was Law student Conan Ke Yi Nan from Minzu University of China.

Besides offering practical courses, the 10-day training camp also invited experts from mainland China to thoroughly discuss the Belt and Road Initiative. The participants were given the chance to visit new enterprises in China that were associated with the Belt and Road Initiative. There, they had the opportunity to interact with the entrepreneurs face-to-face.

UTAR Economics student Yeoh Wei Juin said, "My biggest reward from the training is to be able to learn how to identify the trend raised by the Belt and Road Initiative. There are infinite opportunities you can explore as long as you keep up with this trend. In addition, I met many elites from different places such as Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand. We have actively shared a lot of views and ideas related to entrepreneurship.”
