MEng in Electronic Systems Programme launched

The Master of Engineering in Electronic Systems Programme was launched on 29 January 2018 at the Sungai Long Campus. The programme is the brainchild of USAINS Holding Sdn Bhd and American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), in collaboration with UTAR and supported by Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF). With this, eligible working engineers will receive full sponsorship from the HRDF (INBASE Postgrad MSc Programme) to pursue their master degree (Master of Engineering-Electronic Systems) in UTAR.

More than 50 candidates submitted their applications within one month and 15 were shortlisted to qualify for the sponsorship. The successful applicants were from ON-Semiconductor Malaysia Sdn Bhd, AMKOR Technology Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Malaysia Transformer Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, IED Sdn Bhd and Intelligent Circuit Engineering Sdn Bhd. The initiative aimed to provide educational opportunities for working engineers who wish to elevate their skills and expand their width of knowledge to become more qualified professionals and move up to the Electronics and Electrical value chain.

“It is because of the effort and close collaboration with AMCHAM, HRDF and USAINS Holdings that our UTAR Master of Engineering in Electronic Systems is able to be offered as a full sponsorship programme from HRDF,” said Prof Lee.

Chan said, “We hope the students will put their best effort into this programme and pass it with flying colours to secure a better career in the future.”
