The Department of Alumni Relations and Placement (DARP) organised “UTAR Kampar Campus Career Day” at the Dewan Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik on 8 February 2018. More than 600 visitors comprising graduating students and alumni swarmed the hall. The visitors were seen smartly and formally dressed and prepared with their resumes for the walk-in interview sessions.
The main objective of this event was to enhance students’ employability and career prospects through the opportunity of walk-in interviews with the participating companies. It also aimed to help final year students find internship opportunities and permitted other students a glimpse into their dream jobs. The hall was a hive of activity as students thronged the booths on the lookout for the best opportunities.
A total of 70 companies from various sectors participated in the recruitment drive. Among the participating companies were Maybank, Public Bank, UEM Group Berhad, CompAsia Sdn Bhd, Juris Technologies, OCK Group of Companies, Allianz Century Pioneer, Allianz, OCBC Bank, Eastern Decorator Sdn Bhd, Top Glove, Astro, Jobstreet.com Sdn Bhd, and Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.
DARP Head Foo Wai Wai said, “This career day is a good platform which allows the graduating students and alumni to have a better understanding of the job market, further enabling them to prepare themselves for employment.” He added, “The participating companies were also impressed with the encouraging response from the students. This career day is held annually to benefit graduating students to look out for the best career opportunities.”
