The guests, organising committees and participants at the fiesta
The Anime, Comic and Games (ACG) Fiesta 2018 was organised by the UTAR Asian Cultural Society (ACS) of Sungai Long Campus from 24 to 25 February 2018. It saw the appearance of anime fans and cosplay enthusiasts from all over the states.
Held at Sungai Long Campus, the two-day event aimed to provide an opportunity for anime fans, gamers, comic fans, and cosplayers to get together in large groups to share their passion and experiences of creating their costumes as well as to broaden their knowledge about the art of famous anime, comic and games in Japan.

Waitresses dressed in maid costumes
Moreover, the event saw a special collaboration with La Petite Fox, an event-based fox-themed Maid and Butler café, which provided the guests with a memorable experience in the anime café. The waiters and waitresses were all dressed up in lovely maid outfits and offered their guests special services such as spoon-feeding and kabe-don.
“Cosplay is not widely accepted or is yet to be accepted by the society at large. Some parents think it is bad and a waste of time. They have misconceptions about cosplaying,” said UTAR ACS advisor Mok Ru Kai. He hoped that more people will come to understand this cultural form of hobby. Also, students and hobbyists will be more actively involved and contribute to the diffusion of the activity they love.
ACG Fiesta is an annual event organised by UTAR students to gather anime and cosplay enthusiasts from all over the country and celebrate the ever-growing culture with tons of performances, cosplay competitions, anime cafe and games.
