Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2018

UTAR entered the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings for the first time in 2017 and was ranked in the 101-150 band together with two other Malaysian universities.

This year, UTAR is again ranked in the 101-150 band for the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2018 and is placed ahead of six other Malaysian universities in the THE Young Univerisity Rankings 2018 table. This makes UTAR the top ranked young university in the country as indicated in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2018 table.

According to Times Higher Education, 250 institutions from 55 different countries are included in this year’s edition of the Young University Rankings which cover universities aged 50 and under. The prestigious table applies the same rigorous 13 performance indicators as the overall THE World University Rankings - with young universities measured across their teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income. However, the methodology has been carefully recalibrated, with reputation counting for less, to reflect the special characteristics of younger universities.

UTAR was also previously ranked #114 in the Times Higher Education (THE) Emerging Economies University Rankings 2018.

The University is indeed proud of these achievements and thanks everyone including the authorities, the University management, staff, students and the public for all their support and contributions. UTAR will continue to strive for greater success in the years ahead.
