Students sharing study tour experiences

The Department of Soft Skills Competency, Department of International Students Services, Department of Alumni Relations and Placements, Division of Community and International Networking, all Faculties and Centre for Extension Education jointly organised the Outbound Study Tour & Student Exchange (STEPS) Showcase 6.0 on 6 June 2018 at Sungai Long Campus.

The showcase aimed to provide students with a platform to enquire about study tours and student exchange programmes. Aside from that, the event also seeks to provide students with information regarding a wide range of excursions and cultural activities, sponsorships available in the university, and to ensure on-going coordination across faculties, institutes, centres, divisions and departments through active coordination networks.

Year three semester two Architecture student Yoo Phei Shan said, “Throughout the study tour, I was able to learn the Korean Language and the cultural differences. It was difficult in the beginning but I like the overall journey as it was a golden opportunity for me to visit Busan and at the same time to learn how Koreans live. I would definitely recommend other students to join the study tours if they wish to explore and learn how people live in different countries.”

“Study tour and student exchange programme showcase is a trimester event where we promote the programmes available regardless of inbound or outbound tours and showcase the past study tours experiences. We would like to create awareness among the new intake students as well as the current students so they could take initiatives to participate in the student exchange programme and the study tour programme,” said UTAR Alumni Association Vice President Nurul Izwazi binti Mohd Nor.
