Tarian Topeng

The Mah Meri people are experts in craft-making, especially in traditional wood carving. Their carvings include deities, humans, and also flora and fauna figurines. Their carvings have also been recognised by the UNESCO. They are the only indigenous community in Malaysia who practices mask dance (Tarian Topeng). The dance is accompanied by music played using traditional instruments. These instruments are called tun-tog (bamboo), jule (viola), tamboo (drum), and a-tawa (brass gong).
