Exploring further collaboration with GUT

The delegates from Guilin University of Technology (GUT), China visited Sungai Long Campus on 12 November 2018.

The delegates from GUT were its College International Education Dean Xie Jiguang, Vice Dean Ma Binbin and Secretary Mo Wensheng. Welcoming them on behalf of UTAR were Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Research Director Dr Yong Thian Khok, Department of Architecture & Sustainable Design Head Ts Tan Kok Hong, Sungai Long Department of Soft Skills Competency Head Fook Oi Yee, Sungai Long Department of Student Affairs (DSA) Head Loh Nyuk Leung, Centre for Extension Education (CEE) Head of Business Development and Administration & Operation Unit Joleena Chong Mohamad Chong, Division of Community and International Networking (DCInternet) Deputy Director Dr Chen, I-Chi Faculty of Accountancy and Management Dr Foo Meow Yee, DSA Senior Assistant Manager-cum-Counsellor Navamani Nagappon and CEE Assistant Manager Vooi Wen Kei.

In the mid of meeting

The meeting commenced with the presentation of corporate videos to further explore the structures and programmes that both universities offer. It subsequently continued with a discussion on possible collaborations in the future in terms of student exchange programmes, postgraduate programmes, academic research joint programmes for faculties, summer and winter school programmes and other possible cooperation. Throughout the discussion, both universities demonstrated a high consensus and anticipation on the collaboration to further enhance the educational opportunities together.

The meeting then ended with a souvenir presentation followed by a group photo session.
