UTAR welcomed a group of visitors from Universitas Krisnadwipayana (UNKRIS) on 25 September 2018 at Sungai Long Campus. The visitors sought to explore how the business and management courses are conducted in UTAR.

Among the visitors were UNKRIS Head of International Undergraduate Programme Dety Nurfadilah, Head of Data Processing Centre Wiwik Pachmarwi, Head of SKPI (Surat Keterangan Pendamping Ijazah) Dhistianti Mei Rahmawanti, UNKRIS staff and students. Welcoming the guests were Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM) Dean Dr Sia Bee Chuan, Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial Training David Ng Ching Yat, Deputy Dean for Academic Development and Undergraduate Programmes Dr Hen Kai Wah, UTAR staff and students.

“We are very glad to have all of you here today. I hope we can work on future collaborations together. I also wish to invite your students to participate in our exchange programmes. We are also very eager to send our students abroad,” said Dr Sia in her welcome speech. She also added that UNKRIS is the second university from Indonesia that paid a visit to UTAR.

“It is such an honour for us to finally meet you all in person. The objective of our visit is to explore the universities and cultures in Malaysia. We hope we can have collaborations through mobility programmes, student exchange programme and research,” said Dety. She also mentioned that this was UNKRIS’ first international visit to a Malaysian university.

Also joining Dety to share insights on the background of UNKRIS was lecturer Amanda Setiorini, “The name of our university perpetuated from the name Krisnadwipayana, a “Begawan” who educates the Bhrata family to become Satria Pinandita, a figure who is virtuous, intelligent, diligent, skilled, passionate and devoted to the nation.”

Besides playing corporate videos, students’ life and activities in both universities were also shown to the audiences.
