Delegates from the Guangxi University, China paid a visit to UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 1 August 2019. The visit aimed to seek possible collaboration in the areas of Architecture and Civil Engineering while forging closer ties for future research collaboration.
Representing Guangxi University were College of Civil Engineering and Architecture Dean Prof Mei Guoxiong, Deputy Dean Prof Chen Zheng, Deputy Dean Prof Peng Linxin, Deputy Dean Prof Chen Lihua, Assistant of Dean Dr Wu Jie and Assistant of Dean Dr Xiao Liang.
UTAR was represented by Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) Dean Prof Ir Dr Goi Bok Min, Deputy Dean for R&D and Postgraduate Programmes Ts Dr Yap Wun She, Department of Architecture and Sustainable Design Head Ts Tan Kok Hong, Head of Master of Architecture Programme Ar Quake Huay Tin, Assoc Prof Ir Dr Lim Siong Kang, Assoc Prof Ir Dr Huang Yuk Feng and Division of Community and International Networking Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn.
During the visit, both parties discussed the exchange of students and staff, establishment, the milestone of the universities and future joint research collaborations as well as the available scholarships provided by Guangxi University for Postgraduate programmes. Guangxi University also extended their invitation towards LKC FES to visit Guangxi University to witness the bridge construction.
The meeting was followed by a souvenir presentation ceremony and group photography.
