Maths Runner: A synergy of maths, teamwork and stamina

Participants, sponsors and some of the committee members

Filled with enthusiasm and excitement, math lovers participated in an event called “Maths Runner 2019” on 3 August 2019. The event took place around Bukit Bintang, Dataran Merdeka and KLCC Park. The starting point was at Berjaya Times Square LG Entertainment Entrance.

This event was solely sponsored by Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association (MARGMA). Around 120 participants from different universities participated in this event. In other words, a total of 40 groups of participants competed to win cash prizes up to RM2,050.  Besides testing their physical skills, the competition also required participants to display strong problem-solving skills.

There were 17 station games and four checkpoints in total and they were scattered around KLCC Park, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, Dataran Merdeka, River of Life and Central Market. There were two major quests in the game. The first quest required the participants to collect stamps to complete the scoring card, while the second quest required them to collect puzzle pieces to complete the final puzzle. The winners would be determined by the accumulated marks and time of completion.
