Visitors from National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (Yun Tech) visited UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 29 November 2019. During the visit, a discussion was held between both parties to consider areas of collaboration.

of Digital Media Design postgraduate student Ke Zheng You, Department of
Digital Media Design postgraduate student Huang Xiang Yu.
Welcoming the delegates on behalf of UTAR were its Division of Community and
International Networking Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn, Faculty of
Creative Industries (FCI) Centre for Immersive Technology and Creativity
Chairperson Dr Aloysius Yapp, Deputy Dean for Student Development and
Industrial Training Lee Lih Su, Deputy Dean for R&D and Postgraduate
Programmes Dr Loo Hong Chuang, Department of Soft Skills Competency (DSSC)
Head of Sungai Long Campus Fook Oi Yee, DSSC Assistant Manager Lim Jia Jia.
Also joining from Kampar Campus via video conference were DSSC Head of
Kampar Campus Hee Chwen Yee, DSSC academics Yoon Seck Hoe and Fong Kah
Hoong, and DSSC Senior Assistant Manager Lee Sie Yun.

The meeting began with Dr Loo sharing the background of UTAR and its campuses. It was then followed by the presentation of UTAR corporate video to provide the visitors with a better understanding of the structures and programmes that UTAR offers its students as well as the achievements that UTAR has made since its establishment. After that, another video presentation was carried out by Lim where she shared the activities of the New Village Community Project. It was then followed by Prof Chou’s presentation on Yun Tech’s background, its campuses and current developments. She also discussed some common areas of interest.

During the meeting, Dr Lai also suggested some potential areas of collaboration that would benefit both parties. Other possible areas of collaboration were also brought up by both parties during the meeting, including short-term visiting programme, internship, students and staff exchange, training, study tour and new village collaborative project.

A souvenir exchange session between Dr Lai and Prof Chou took place. It was followed by a group photography session before the meeting ended.
