UAJ visits to establish international collaboration

The Faculty of Business and Finance (FBF) welcomed a group of academics from Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (UAJ), Jakarta to UTAR Kampar Campus on 03 December 2019.

The academics consisting of UAJ’s Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business Dr Irenius Dwinanto Bimo, Head of Management Dr Christiana Fara Dharmastuti, Head of Accountancy Dr Petrus Ridaryanto, Head of Economics Development Dr Adji Pratikto, Head of Master of Management Dr Endang Sulistyaningsih, Head of Master of Economic Development Dr Siti Saadah, Head of Accounting Professional Education Almatius Setya Marsudi, Head of Study Affairs Division of Faculty of Economics and Business Benediktus Elnath Aldi, Senior Lecturer and Researcher of Faculty of Economics and Business Lina Salim and Secretary of Management Sumani were welcomed by FBF Dean Dr Au Yong Hui Nee. Also present to receive the delegates were FBF Deputy Dean for Academic Development and Undergraduate Programmes Peter Tan Sin Howe, FBF Head of Department of Business Dr Choong Yuen Onn, Head of Department of Economics G. Thavamalar, UTAR Division of Programme Promotion Assistant Manager Ng Jean Ling.

The visit aimed to provide a meeting ground for both parties to engage in discussions that will foster potential collaboration for research. The visit also enabled both parties to have a better understanding of the facilities available at both institutions.

The discussion was also joined by the Director of Division of Community and International Networking Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn, Director of Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Research Dr Yong Thian Khok, Manager of Department of Student Affairs Choong Yee Chin, Head of Programme (PhD/MPhil) of Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM) Dr Cham Tat Huei, and FAM Head of Programme (MBA (Building Management) Amalina binti Azmi via video conferencing from Sungai Long Campus.

In her welcome remarks, Dr Au Yong expressed her keenness to discuss potential joint collaborations, such as students and staff exchange programme, joint research projects, internship, study tour, joint seminar, dual degree, mobility research, bilateral symposium and academic involvement, and gave a thorough introduction about UTAR. It was followed by the introduction about UAJ by Dr Bimo and other academics.

The visit ended with a souvenir presentation from Dr Au Yong and Dr Bimo, followed by a group photograph.
