Happy faces of the students, student helpers and staff at the end of the programme

English and Bahasa Malaysia tuitions were conducted by UTAR lecturers on 13 July 2019 at UTARSungai Long Campus. It was conducted as part of a motivational programme. The tuitions were carried out by academics from the Department of Soft Skills Competency (DSSC), namely Nurulain binti Mohamad Salihuddin, Nur Farahin binti Bahari and Nurzanatul Amira binti Azizan along with a group of student helpers. The programme was sponsored by ECM Libra Foundation.

The programme aimed to equip 80 students from Year Four, Five and Six with basic language comprehension and build their confidence in using both the languages. The programme also aimed to prepare the students for their major school examinations.

The target group for the programme was students from Chinese schools nearby and new villages’ schools. The students selected were at intermediate level. Besides allowing students to learn the theoretical and practical parts of Bahasa Malaysia and English, the programme also included activities such as station games with learning objectives and challenging activities to hone their creativity. The students were exposed to teambuilding, responsibility as well as effective communication through the various activities.
