A group of delegates from Chengdu Xingcheng Investment Group Co., Ltd. (CXIG), Sichuan Provincial Investment Group Co., Ltd. (SCIG) and Mango Media Sdn Bhd visited UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 19 June 2019.
The delegates comprised of CXIG Deputy Party Committee Secretary Chen Zhimin, Human Resources Department Deputy Director Zhang Jinglan, and Investment and Development Department Business supervisor Wu Jiazhi; SCIG General Manager of Overseas Investment Centre-cum-Chairmen of SCIG International (HK) Limited Liao Bin, Director of Discipline Inspection Department Wang Jun, Deputy Director of Party-masses Relationship Department Yan Cheng, and Deputy Director of Human Resources Department Song Yixiao; Mango Media Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Ge Yamei and Human Resources and Admin Manager Terrence Yen.
Welcoming them were UTAR President Ir Prof Academician Dato’ Dr Chuah Hean Teik, Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic Development Prof Ir Dr Ewe Hong Tat, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Dean Emeritus Prof Dr Cheong Soon Keng, Centre for Research on Communicable Diseases Chairperson Prof Dr Ngeow Yun Fong, Student Development and Industrial Training Deputy Dean Dr Foo Meow Yee, R&D and Postgraduate Programmes Deputy Dean Dr Pok Wei Fong, Division of Community and International Networking Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn and Department of Economics Head Sia Bik Kai.
In the mid of the meeting
The purpose of their visit was to discuss opportunities that could enhance the experience of students and staff of the involved parties, particularly in the area of healthcare, engineering and construction. During the meeting, UTAR corporate video was presented to provide the delegates with a deeper understanding of the significant milestones and development achieved by the University. It was followed by Prof Chuah’s remarks, where he shared about the past collaboration of the University and discussed the potential collaboration that could be explored to benefit all parties.
In order to further enhance the communication and coherence between the parties, the delegates provided an overview of the background and the current development of their respective companies. They expressed their concerns on certain issues and endorsed several prospective areas for future collaboration.
Before the meeting ended, a souvenir presentation session and a group photo session were held.
