An exhibition titled “International Art Exchange” was held from 3 June 2019 to 14 June 2019 at UTARSungai Long. The exhibition was organised by the Department of Multimedia Design and Animation of the Faculty of Creative Industries in collaboration with the Department of Visual and Performing Arts of Angelo State University (ASU).

The artworks were produced by students and staff from ASU and UTAR. It also aimed to bring together and unite the art lovers of two countries, namely Malaysia and the United States of America. It also aimed to promote the artistic artworks between the two universities.
“This is our first time collaborating with ASU. We were able to explore, learn and exchange the cultures of the two countries through these art displays. We have given the physical copies to the ASU. We have placed the artworks from our students and staff in ASU. When it comes to arts, it is important to pay heed to the right application of colours,” said Department of Multimedia Design and Animation lecturer Azri bin Haji Ahmad.
“The event provided an opportunity for the students to run and manage it. So, in the future after they graduate, they will have no trouble managing events like this,” said Department of Multimedia Design and Animation lecturer Dr Yuen May Chan.

The art shows a mixture of digital print and skills, and different kinds of genre. “Most of them are beautiful. I can see that their art style is different from ours and they can convey the features of expressions,” said Andy Liew Jun Kit, one of the participants.
The event saw the participation of six lecturers, namely Dr Yuen, Yang Suk Lan, Lee Lih Su, Wang Chain Khiang, Suhaila binti Ahmad Zaki and Mohamad Azri. The exhibition received a total of 21 participants from both universities.
