Prof Chuah complementing Huawei’s effort in bridging ICT skills

Complementing Huawei’s effort in building a better connected Malaysia, Prof Chuah in his opening speech enthused, “Thank you Huawei for another successful collaboration in organising the Huawei Connected Campus 2019 Recruitment event here at our Kampar Campus. We are very grateful for this continuous opportunity to be working together with your team for an event that greatly benefits our students’ future career. I would also like to thank the Kampar Campus team who has put in much effort to make the event a smooth and successful one. I understand that this Huawei Connected Campus 2019 Recruitment event is the second version following the first Huawei Connected Campus in 2017 which was also held here.”

He added, “Themed, ‘Run the World with Bravery’, I find the theme is very aptly which strongly reflects the current reality of the digital world we are living in today. Technologies and the Internet of Things (IOT) are indeed running the world and many industries have significantly integrated the application of machines and artificial intelligence (AI) in their processes. This is truly the digital revolution that we have been told to be prepared for and now it has dawned on us. Therefore, collaboration with tech giants, like Huawei, is very important for us to be able to fully understand the effect of these technological applications. These collaborations are also the gateway for us to access industrial insights that will essentially help the university when planning its syllabuses, and enabling our students to gain the latest information about technologies and IOT directly from the industry.”

He further emphasised, “Understanding the importance of such collaboration, our collaboration with Huawei has long been established from the first memorandum of understanding (MoU) we signed in 2012. I am delighted to inform everyone that our collaboration with Huawei is further strengthened with a UTAR-Huawei Scholarship memorandum of agreement (MoA) signed with them today. Through this MoA, the students selected to receive the scholarship from Huawei will also be provided with career opportunities with Huawei upon completion of studies.”
