UTAR hosts training on China-Malaysia Twin Parks

The Institute of Management and Leadership Development (IMLD) hosted a 14-day training programme called “China-Malaysia “Twin Parks” Research on Collaborative Innovation of Industrial Convergence Policy” from 4 August 2019 until 17 August 2019.

The delegates were China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park (CMQIP) Administration Committee Deputy Director Mo Fuwen, Planning Development Executive Director Yang Xiqiang, Land and Municipal Planning Deputy Director Yang Jianbang, Financial Development Executive Director Wen Jiaqing, Foreign Affairs Outreach Department Executive Director Li Zhi, Social Service Director Wu Dong, Deputy Division Chief of Organisational Personnel Office Gong Weixin, Administrative Examination and Approval Executive Director Ke Jun, CMQIP (Guangxi) Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd. Construction Management Department Assistant Li Yong, CMQIP (Guangxi) Jingu Investment Co., Ltd. General Management Department Manager Tan Hong, CMQIP (Guangxi) Merchants Service Co., Ltd. General Manager Liang Wei, China-Malaysia (Guangxi) International Consulting Co., Ltd. Deputy General Manager Yang Jiazheng and CMQIP (Guangxi) Industrial Platform Investment Co., Ltd Investment Department Manager Zhang Jian.

The 14-day programme aimed to understand Malaysia’s economy, society, humanities, policies and regulations. It also aimed to carry out research on industrial convergence policies to provide intellectual support for the better and faster development of the twin parks. The programme covered topics such as economic, industrial and foreign trade policies of Malaysia, ethnic and social, political systems, Islamic finance, legal systems, and research and development of Malaysian traditional industries such as palm oil, halal food, durian and bird’s nest.

The delegates benefited from the lectures held at UTAR and they were given the opportunity to network with one another during the visitation to several relevant organisations. Among them were Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC), Selangor Halal Hub, Islamic Banking & Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM), Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP), Kuantan Port Consortium Sdn Bhd, Nature Goodness Food Industry Sdn Bhd, Pahang State Economic Planning Unit, Golden-Mah Bird's Nest Sdn Bhd, SME Association and Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia.

The delegates also took the opportunity to explore further collaboration with UTAR. Upon the completion of the training programme, the delegates were presented with a certificate for their participation in the programme.
