Providing free tea products and consultation on body constitutions to promote health

The Chinese Medicine Task Force of Malaysia (COVID-19), led by UTAR Head of Department of Chinese Medicine-cum-Chairperson of Centre for Research in Traditional Chinese Medicine Assoc Prof Dr Te Kian Keong, offered free Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) consultation on body constitutions and free tea products to the public via online.

“According to TCM, the body constitutions can be divided into nine types, namely Balanced Constitution, Qi-deficient Constitution, Yang-deficient Constitution, Yin-deficient Constitution, Phlegm-dampness Constitution, Damp-heat Constitution, Stagnant Blood Constitution, Stagnant Qi Constitution, and Inherited Special Constitution,” said Dr Te.

He added that the consultation was complemented by an analysis of body constitution and the tea products (to be taken over a period of three days) were given based on the assessments. A delivery service for the tea products was also provided (only available within Peninsular Malaysia) to those who registered online. The registration can be made through the following website: http://sg.mikecrm.com/ankdXrz. Through the event, the public was also able to gain more health care information on acupressure.

Body constitution in TCM reflects an individual’s unique physical, physiological and psychological functions, which is influenced by his or her physical traits, psychological character, emotional status, lifestyle habits, diet and living environment. Having a better understanding of the body constitution and adopting a relevant lifestyle could help to achieve optimal health and prevent diseases. The TCM tea products, on the other hand, could help to balance the Yin and Yang so that the body can better adapt to changes in natural and social environments as well as psychological changes.
