Students and alumni put up brilliant performances for UTAR e-convocation

To celebrate the first UTAR e-Convocation, many UTAR students and alumni came forward to show their love and support for the graduates by sending their video performances. It was indeed heartwarming to see so many UTARians put in great efforts to videotape their own performances. This initiative did not only showcase their talents but it also displayed their love and support for the fellow UTARians. The e-concert showcased various performances by students and alumni for UTAR graduates in celebration of UTAR’s first e-Convocation.

24 Festive Drums performance

Several UTAR clubs and societies came together to create videos that recorded their spectacular performances. The 24 Festive Drums was no exception, with its members performing a sensational 24 Festive Drums performance by recording their performances separately and then combining it as a tribute video. With a total of 25 members in the club, each one of them recorded their respective parts from their own home. Since they could not get a hold of the instruments, the team creatively used chairs to substitute the drums.

Similarly, the Dance Club of Kampar Campus also contributed to the e-concert by editing and combining their separate performances into one beautiful and heartwarming contribution video. It was performed by five members of the UTAR Kampar Campus Dance Club, all of whom worked very hard to give a wonderful performance to show their love for their fellow UTARians.

These performances have captured the epitome of teamwork and togetherness among UTAR students. Both clubs have put in a tremendous amount of effort and worked together to ensure their performances were perfectly coordinated in order to create an amazing video.

Not only that, Engineering student Wong Kam Hui, also performed a stunning and mesmerizing Diabolo performance for the e-concert, as he displayed his masterful abilities. Similarly, Spot19, a dance group consisting of UTAR students, performed at the e-concert with their excellent dancing and choreography. Even though the students were unable to train and perform together physically on campus due to the Movement Control Order (MCO), it did not stop them from practising their routine and putting in the effort to show their appreciation to all the graduates.

Not only were there amazing performances by the clubs and societies, but also mesmerizing individual singing performances by several students and alumni of great talent. Even though the MCO prevented the students and alumni from performing at the physical event, they still managed to videotape their singing performances to show their love and support for their fellow UTARians.

There were many memorable videotaped performances that included a variety of songs sung by students and alumni for the e-concert. It also included the performances of students and alumni who have performed in the previous convocations over the past few years. One of the main singers was Angie Ng, an alumna who had performed in previous UTAR convocations; she sang mesmerizing renditions of three different songs of different languages, showcasing her amazing talent. She performed the patriotic song “Setia”, “Dream It Possible” by De’Lacey, and “你的答案” by A Rong.
