Disposable face masks given by China-based postgraduate student and alumni

UTAR Institute of Chinese Studies (ICS) received a donation of 10,000 disposable face masks from its China-based postgraduate student and alumni in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ren Jie, who is currently a postgraduate student of ICS, donated 2,000 pieces and 3,000 pieces of disposable face masks to Sungai Long Campus and Kampar Campus respectively. Another 5,000 disposable face masks were jointly donated by the ICS alumni group, represented by Dr Wang Zheng Hui.

Receiving the items, ICS Dean Assoc Prof Dr Chong Siou Wei expressed his gratitude for the timely and generous donation. “I would like to sincerely thank our alumni and our postgraduate student for their support in donating these face masks especially during this severe period of COVID-19 pandemic. This would not only reinforce the anti-epidemic measures taken at the university but also solve our urgent needs. The supplies were certainly a timely source of help, filled with cares. On behalf of the Institute of Chinese Studies of UTAR, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude and utmost respect once again to all of them,” said Dr Chong.
