UTAR going cyber as the best option forward

In the light of the current enforcement of movement control order in the country, universities need to be creative in order to remain current and competitive.

The usual face-to-face Open Day events and counselling can no longer be held during this period of movement control order. So, going cyber is the alternative. If students and parents cannot come to campus, we will bring the campus to them, via virtual mode.

UTAR will hold its Cyber Open Day from 18 March 2020 to 19 April 2020, 10am to 6pm daily. All Open Day activities are held online where students and parents can connect with UTAR through a series of interactive activities.

Viewers can learn more about UTAR through navigational tools and search functions to engage in various digital activities, access information and register for degree programmes from anywhere in the country and overseas without leaving their home.

This Cyber Open Day is not only about answering emails and conducting education couselling over phones, it is also about an intelligent online interface that allows interaction with students, parents and the public who wish to know more about the University, its campus and its programmes.

There is a virtual booth setup by UTAR faculties and service units in an online digital platform where students and the public can access anytime anywhere via any devices including mobile phones. We call this the 24/7 Online Exhibition Hall where viewers can watch introductory videos, view facilities, find out about programmes, know more about faculty uniqueness, and apply for scholarships/loans and register for programmes.

There are also webinars for viewers to know more about faculty programmes and study pathways. Students can also do an online career guidance test to know more about their aptitudes in relation to respective job skills and requirements.

More importantly, students and viewers can engage in LIVE CHATs with our staff from 10am to 6pm daily.
