With reference to the announcement made by the
Ministry of Higher Education on 2 October 2020,
the orientation
programme for the October intake
all took
place in online
mode. The shift to the online
mode was to ensure the
safety and health of students, faculty
and staff.
The online orientation,
conducted via
Microsoft Teams, was designed to help students make the transition to
the University, as well
as to develop foundational knowledge of the University's values,
expectations, resources
and structures.
It was
held on 19 October 2020
and 21 October 2020. During
the orientation,
students had the opportunity to
know more about the
University through a variety of virtual events, including
mass call, meet
up with Student Representatives Council (SRC), peer mentoring programme,
campus adjustment talk
and briefings.
In order to prepare students for their study life,
briefings were conducted by the administrative departments to provide
students with information such as student billing and payment of fees,
financial assistance, university’s
facilities and services,
soft skills development programme, student exchange programmes, and
university policies and rules. Faculties also conducted their own briefing
allowing students to connect with their faculty directly for further
information.
