UTAR Education Foundation received a donation of RM20,000 for the UTAR Hospital project from the Kampar Moy Kong Association Women’s Unit at Grand Kampar Hotel on 9 April 2021.

Representing Kampar Moy Kong Association in presenting the cheque to UTAR was its Women Unit Chairperson Puan Sri Hew Woon Mun Fah, accompanied by the Council Members of Kampar Moy Kong Association Women’s Unit Chan Yoke Lin, Lam Sai Yang, Lam Siew Yin and Cheong Mee Foong.

The cheque was received by UTAR Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations Prof Dr Choong Chee Keong. Also present were UTAR Council Member Hew Fen Yee and Kampar Moy Kong Association Vice President Cheong Koon Wan, Kampar Moy Kong Association Treasurer Liew Chin Kack and Kampar Moy Kong Association Deputy of General Affairs Liong Kim Foo.

Representing the Kampar Moy Kong Association Women’s Unit, Puan Sri Hew explained the purpose of the donation. She mentioned, “The Women’s Unit decided to donate to UTAR Hospital under the name of Kampar Moy Kong Association Women’s Unit. Although it is a small amount, we hope that this donation will serve as a starting point for the local associations and public to contribute to the UTAR Hospital project which will benefit the Kampar community.”

Prof Choong gave a brief introduction on the UTAR Hospital project and said, “UTAR is indeed honoured and privileged to receive the donation of RM20,000 from the Women’s Unit of Kampar Moy Kong Association for the development of the UTAR Hospital. Your invaluable support and generous contribution to the Hospital will greatly benefit not only UTAR’s medical and health science students who will receive training at the Hospital; but also, the community from Kampar and surrounding towns who will benefit from the affordable medical services in both Western and Traditional and Complementary Medicine.”
