Collaboration to integrate contemporary technology in learning

Auto Count Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Choo Yan Tiee and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Alex Ng visited the Faculty of Business and Finance (FBF) of Kampar Campus on 24 November 2021 to foster collaboration with each other.

The objective of the visit was to have an in-person discussion and explore the potential of expanding the collaboration beyond the AutoCount Commerce Accounting programme to the Healthcare Management programme.

During the visit, Choo expressed the company’s commitment to continue supporting the students’ activities, industrial training and the recruitment of potential employees in the future. Besides, AutoCount is one of the suppliers for the UTAR Hospital project. They are looking into potential networking and discussing further collaboration in the Health Information Management course of the Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) Healthcare Management.

FBF Dean Assoc Prof Dr Au Yong Hui Nee said, “This collaboration will provide students the opportunities to experience problem-based learning environment and prepare students to meet the work requirements in the future. UTAR always encourages exposure to new technologies. In line with that, the establishment of a computerised course complements the effort that we put into making UTAR graduates a step ahead of others as well as fitting the demand of the industry. The AutoCount Computerised Accounting Course will equip our students with the knowledge they will need to prepare for the world of work and that it will become an added value for them upon graduation.”

AutoCount is the leading business solutions software for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia with more than two decades of experience, serving more than 180,000 companies across South East Asia. Moreover, AutoCount has also sponsored the AutoCount Competition held on 24 September 2021.

UTAR and Auto Count Sdn Bhd signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in 2019 to adopt AutoCount Computerised Accounting Course into Accounting Information System (AIS) subject for students. Under the MoU, Auto Count Sdn Bhd will supply the AutoCount Computerised Accounting Course materials to UTAR to be used for its students in relevant programmes. The product of this collaboration can be associated with SDG15: Life on Land as they encourage the use of computerised systems and reduce the use of paper.
