UTAR Virtual Career Fair

With the intention of providing an opportunity for UTAR students, graduating students and alumni to meet with potential employers in an informal setting and learn more about the job opportunities that await them in the employment market, UTAR Department of Alumni Relations and Placement (DARP) has been organising the “UTAR Virtual Career Fair” once every two months, from April 2020 till now.

The participating companies include Top Glove Corporation Berhad, 99 Speed Mart Sdn Bhd, ViTrox Corporation Berhad, Viewpoint Research Corporation Sdn Bhd, Truwater Cooling Towers Sdn Bhd, Smart Ideal Wealth Advisory, Hong Leong Assurance Berhad (HLA), CSC Steel Holdings Berhad, Crystal International Group Limited, Avery Dennison Corporation, Xinyi Solar Holdings Limited, MasterWealthFA Advisory Sdn Bhd, Jireh Consult, Berjaya Corporation Berhad, Money Compass Media (M) Sdn Bhd, Ecovis Malaysia PLT, etc.

DARP Senior Assistant Manager Lee Wan Poh said, “We understand that job seeking is not easy and sometimes it is difficult to get hold of certain companies. The UTAR Virtual Career Fair provides our students and alumni with a platform to secure their potential employment. The students do not need to worry about contacting the companies because they are readily available at the event.”

He highlighted, “This career fair is a good platform as it allows graduating students and alumni to have a better understanding of the job market, further enabling them to prepare themselves for employment.” Lee added, “Starting from June 2021 onwards, UTAR Virtual Career Fair will introduce ‘Employer E-Meet Session’ where participating companies will have a one-hour Microsoft Team session with students and graduates.”
