UTAR receives donation from Kampar Chinese Chin Woo Athletic Association
UTAR Education Foundation received a donation of RM6,000 for the UTAR Hospital project from Kampar Chinese Chin Woo Athletic Association (Persatuan Sukan China Chin Woo Kampar; 金宝中国精武体育会) at Grand Kampar Hotel on 7 May 2021.
Representing Kampar Chinese Chin Woo Athletic Association in presenting the cheque to UTAR was its President Wong Foy Kong, accompanied by Kampar Chinese Chin Woo Athletic Association’s Vice Presidents Chang Kam Choon and Tee Keam Keng, Treasurer Lee Leng He and Intelligence Education Unit Head Soon Shann Hwa.
The cheque was received by UTAR Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations Prof Dr Choong Chee Keong. Also present were UTAR Planning and Development Committee Advisor Tan Sri Hew See Tong, UTAR Council Member Hew Fen Yee and MCA Youth Head of Fundraising Daniel Wa Wai How.
Representing the Kampar Chinese Chin Woo Athletic Association, Wong explained the purpose of the donation. He mentioned, “We got to know about the UTAR Hospital project from the news published in the newspaper. The news featured the donation of Kampar Moy Kong Association Women’s Unit to UTAR Hospital. After doing some studies on the UTAR Hospital project, we introduced and explained the project to our members during our meeting, and we received a great response from our members. We feel that it is meaningful to donate and support the UTAR Hospital project which will well benefit the Kampar community especially in terms of health care services. We also hope that this donation will serve as a good starting point to attract more associations and the public to support and contribute to the UTAR Hospital.”
Prof Choong expressed his gratitude to the Association and said, “UTAR is indeed honoured to receive the donation of RM6,000 from the Kampar Chinese Chin Woo Athletic Association for the development of UTAR Hospital. Your invaluable support and generous contribution to the hospital will greatly benefit not only UTAR’s medical and health science students who will receive training at the hospital, but also the community from Kampar and surrounding towns who will benefit from the affordable medical services in both Western and Traditional and Complementary Medicine.”
