UTAR and TOGL Technology Sdn Bhd
signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 20 May 2021 via Zoom to
initiate collaboration between both parties. UTAR was represented by its
President Ir Prof Dr Ewe Hong Tat and TOGL Technology Sdn Bhd was
represented by its Director Edward Ng Boon Chee. Witnessing the signing
ceremony were UTAR Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic
Development Ir Prof Dr Yow Ho Kwang and TOGL Technology Sdn Bhd Secretary to
CEO Shaelyn Moo.
Under the collaboration, TOGL Technology Sdn Bhd will facilitate UTAR
students to conduct research on mobile health and wellness apps and their
effects on human health. TOGL Technology Sdn Bhd will provide the resources
to support the research until the completion of the research project as
required by TOGL Technology Sdn Bhd.
Apart from the research, UTAR and TOGL Technology Sdn Bhd will work together
on various initiatives such as industry advisory support, industrial visits,
training and consultancy services. Both parties will also jointly hold talks
and workshops besides facilitating the industrial placement of UTAR students
under internship.
Prof Ewe said, “TOGL
Technology Sdn Bhd is well-known for developing mobile applications, social
network solutions, innovations, and research and development. UTAR is
thankful to TOGL Technology Sdn Bhd for providing our staff and students
with this opportunity to conduct a study on mobile wellness apps. I hope
that such a collaboration will provide beneficial outcomes for TOGL and its
users and I look forward to further cooperative ventures in support of
academic and industry exchanges.”
“Many hours have been spent on using mobile phones in a day. Through this
collaboration, we can see how the mobile healthcare and wellness application
can help users to improve their well-being and influences them towards a
balanced life,” Prof Ewe added.
Edward Ng said, “The academics will provide an important dimension in
further understanding our mobile wellness app and its effects on human
well-being. This MoU signifies our continued collaboration with local
universities such as UTAR, and our commitment in further enhancing our
exclusive wellness technology so as to provide better user experience and
health benefits.”
