YB Dato’ Dr Mah Hang Soon, Deputy Education Minister 1 and Consul General Dr Lu Shiwei from the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Penang, were in UTAR Kampar Campus to visit the UTAR Hospital building site and to view the progress of the Hospital TCM Block.

Their visit included a video of the UTAR Hospital presented at the launch of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Forum on the same day at UTAR Kampar Campus Heritage Hall on 15 November 2021. Both YB Dato’ Dr Mah and Consul General Dr Lu were honoured guests for the opening ceremony of the BRI Forum, sponsored by the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Penang and organized by the UTAR BRI Activity Centre which was set up with the support of the China Consulate General office in Penang.

They were clearly impressed with the construction progress of the Hospital and the expanse of the land area allocated. The design of the buildings and the location of the Hospital with its surrounding scenic views of greenery, lakes and hills, brought much praise from both YB Dato’ Dr Mah and Consul General Dr Lu.

It was a great opportunity for both dignitaries to see the vision of the UTAR Hospital materialized in its construction and buildings, and meet the team of people behind the Hospital project development.

Also present with the dignitaries throughout the Hospital site visit were, Tan Sri Hew See Tong (Hospital Project and Development Committee Advisor). Mr Hew Fen Yee (UTAR Council Member), UTAR President Prof Dr Ewe Hong Tat, Dr Te Kian Keong (Head of TCM Department), Ms Chor Choy Yook (Hospital Project Chief Administrative Office) and some members of the Hospital project construction and development team.
