Federation of Textiles General Goods & Garments Associations Malaysia donates to UTAR Hospital
UTAR Hospital received a donation of RM10,000 from the Federation of Textiles General Goods & Garments Associations Malaysia on 19 November 2021. The hospital’s main initiative is to provide affordable quality medical and health services to the students, staff and the community.
According to Alan Ong, the Federation of Textiles General Goods & Garments Associations Malaysia initiated the "Gathering Resources, Alleviating the Poor and Fighting the Pandemic" programme (“汇聚资源,扶贫抗疫”计划), coordinating 13 affiliated associations to start fundraising for medical oxygen generators.
He said, "Seeing that many people have suffered during the pandemic due to shortness of breath, the association initiated the programme to raise funds for medical oxygen generators."
He mentioned, “We mobilised the power of the group and successfully obtained 117 units of medical oxygen generators. We received contributions from many generous people. The obtained oxygen generators were distributed to those in need.”
He said that there were still RM6,000 contributions left from the programme. Adding up his personal donation, a total of RM10,000 was contributed to UTAR Hospital.
