UTAR signs pact with H3C Technology Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd

UTAR and H3C Technology Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd (H3C) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) via Zoom on 23 September 2021. The MoU was signed by UTAR President Ir Prof Dr Ewe Hong Tat and H3C Malaysia Country General Manager Rockies Ma. It was witnessed by UTAR Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Yow Ho Kwang.

Prof Ewe said, “UTAR has started digital transformation many years ago and we have continuously made improvements to our digitization every year. The signing of this MoU with H3C Technology Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd will allow both parties to work together to initiate joint projects involving collaborative research and to share expertise as well as joint development of research. This initiative will eventually create more possible research collaborations between both parties to respond to the academic and community needs.”

Rockies Ma said, “The partnership with UTAR underlines the company's goal of building its strategic partner ecosystem to support Malaysia's digital economy. We work closely with partners in key sectors such as education, government, healthcare, telecommunications and manufacturing to promote digital transformation and build a new smart future for them as Malaysia undergoes the Malaysian Digital Economy Blueprint (MyDIGITAL) initiative.”

Under the collaboration, UTAR and H3C Technology Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd will also facilitate the exchange of ideas and facilities; mutual visits by staff members to pursue research and curriculum development, besides facilitating participation in seminars, conferences and workshops that are relevant to the industry. Aside from that, UTAR undergraduate and postgraduate students will be able to gain industrial exposure through the industrial study visits. This initiative would be a great learning opportunity for UTAR students to enhance their learning experience, professional development and curriculum development.

Through the announcement of this partnership, H3C will provide training to certify academics at Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES), and Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT) with the necessary campus network solution skills. H3C will also be offering UTAR graduates internship opportunities to shape the future talents.
