DSSC organises soft skills programmes for students

Since the Malaysian government announced the Movement Control Order (MCO) on 18 March 2020, every activity on campus was conducted virtually. Hence, the Department of Soft Skills Competency (DSSC) of Sungai Long Campus took this opportunity to offer a series of quality soft skills programmes conducted by experienced speakers for students’ exposure to various soft skills components during the MCO period. This effort was done to cultivate and encourage students to join the activities as it would help them enhance their competitive edge in the job market and excel in life. These online virtual programmes started taking place in the beginning of March 2020, when COVID-19 started. Right up to December 2021, many virtual activities were carried out and these activities were associated with the University’s effort to promote Sustainable Development Goal – 4, Quality Education (SDG 4).

Founded with the bedrock principle of by the people, for the people, UTAR, as a not-for-profit university, has always embraced society through various commitments which are also in line with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals.
