UTAR Hospital T&CM Centre recruits volunteers

A recruitment programme organised by UTAR Hospital’s T&CM Centre, Kampar on 21 April 2022, successfully recruited and trained about 40 volunteers, consisting of UTAR students, staff and the public. These volunteers will be assisting the staff of T&CM Centre to impart holistic care and support to patients and their family members.

The overview of the T&CM Centre

The volunteers were warmly welcomed by T&CM Centre Principal Practitioner Assoc Prof Dr Te Kian Keong, who also gave a speech to thank the volunteers and an introduction on T&CM Centre. He also expressed his hope to see the centre grow progressively, with the love and kindness of the centre staff and volunteers. Following was an introduction to the programme by T&CM Centre Counsellor Chloe Ng Kai Yean, who briefed the volunteers on their job scopes, code of conduct, regulations and other relevant information.

The volunteers were further enlightened from the demonstrative role-play, led by Dr Te, Nurse Manager Parvin and Ng. It was meant to provide more understanding to the volunteers on the things that are entailed in their job scopes. Prior to that, a short ice-breaking session was also held to help the volunteers know one another better and it was followed by a tour around the centre.
