Delegates from KPRIET visit UTAR

A group of delegates from the KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET), India paid a visit to UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 2 August 2022.

The delegates consisted of KPRIET Principal Prof Dr M Akila, KPRIET Biomedical Engineering Head Prof Dr Ganesh Kumar, KPRIET Computer Science Engineering and Business Systems Head Prof Dr A Balamurugan, KPRIET Chemical Engineering Prof Dr M Ramasamy, KPRIET Electrical Engineering Prof Dr Sanjeevikumar and KPRIET Student Affairs Head P Ravi Kumar.

They were welcomed by UTAR President Ir Prof Dr Ewe Hong Tat, Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) Dean Assoc Prof Ts Dr Yap Wun She, Division of Community and International Networking (DCInterNet) Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn, Sungai Long Campus Department of Student Affairs Senior Assistant Manager and Counsellor Navamani Nagappon, DCInterNet Senior Assistant Manager Liu Dan and staff.

Also joining from Kampar Campus via video conference were Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT) Dean Assoc Prof Ts Dr Liew Soung Yue, FICT Department of Computer and Communication Technology Head Ts Dr Chang Jing Jing and DCInterNet Deputy Director Dr Chen, I-Chi.

The meeting commenced with the presentation of UTAR corporate video to enhance the delegates’ understanding of the overall development of the University. Prof Ewe, in his speech, said that he believes there are still plenty of areas in which UTAR and KPRIET can work together and he looks forward to discussing them further on. On the other hand, Prof Dr M Akila gave an introduction about KPRIET and its developments, and expressed her willingness to create a stronger link with UTAR. She also hopes to explore more areas of collaboration.

An in-depth discussion was carried out between both institutions, which promoted the exchange of information. Among the possible areas of collaboration discussed were sharing of expertise and joint development of research, staff and student exchanges, academic development exchanges, study tours, industrial placement, etc.

The meeting ended with a souvenir exchange and a group photography session.
