The incubatees of Unovate Centre were invited to participate in the Hatchery Zone of the Malaysian International Retail and Franchise Exhibition 2022 by Gen Youth Sdn Bhd from 14 to 16 July 2022 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia. The Hatchery Zone is an incubator programme by the Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA). It aimed to assist with the establishment and development of new retail businesses.

The participating incubatee from Kampar Campus was Ottermate Tech with founding team members Wooi Zhuang Ru, How Chao Xun and Tee Kuok Hin. Ottermate Tech is a social media business enabler that provides an all-in-one live commerce management solution for retail live streamers.

Meanwhile, the incubatee from Sungai Long Campus was Graphicito Innovations – Hokantan with team members Shane Wen Jia Yung and Voon Cherng Jyh. Hokantan is a monthly subscription based product team that handles all development work for you.

In addition, Unipreneurs, namely Choy Men Feng, Wan Jee Wai and Choy Zi Yau from Kampar Campus and Chong Jia Kuk from Sungai Long Campus visited the MIRF Exhibition on 15 July 2022. They were accompanied by Unovate Centre staff Esther Thien Pik Kim, Neoh Shi Yii and Lee Yan Yin.

The Malaysia International Retail Franchise Exhibition (MIRF) is a biennial event that aims to provide promising opportunities for Malaysian and international companies to launch their brands and products, increase awareness, and knowledge and promote growth in the region’s retail investment market.
