Invest Selangor Berhad visits UTAR Sungai Long Campus

Delegates from Invest Selangor Berhad visited UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 8 December 2022.

The visit aimed to explore collaboration related to the railway with UTAR, as well as to build rapport and promote mutual understanding between both parties.  

Among them were Director of Trade and Investment and Strategic Planning Division Nik Izzuddin Nik Mohd Yusof, Manager of Trade and Investment and Strategic Planning Division Sharifah Norfazera Syeed Ahmad Nazar and Executive of Trade and Investment and Strategic Planning Division Nurain Nadia Abdullah.

The delegates were welcomed by Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) Dean Assoc Prof Dr Yap Wun She, LKC FES Deputy Dean for R&D and Postgraduate Programmes Assoc Prof Dr Ling Lloyd, Director of Division of Community and International Networking Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn, Director of Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Research Dr Yong Thian Khok, LKC FES academics Assoc Prof Ir Dr Chang Yoong Choon, Assoc Prof Ir Dr Chua Kein Huat, Ir Prof Dr Lam Wei Haur, Dr Ong Chuan Fang, Dr Tan Chun Hui and Ts Dr Kong Sin Guan.

An in-depth discussion was carried out between the two parties regarding talent development programmes such as training, workshop, micro-credential course; research and development (R&D) related to the railway industry such as voice, sound mitigation, railway electrification system, power supply and more; and the future collaboration for events such as industry-academic symposium or conference related to the railway industry.

The meeting then ended with a souvenir exchange and a group photography session.
