UTAR and Sichuan Hongbo Vocational High School
(四川省弘博中等专业学校) signed a
memorandum of understanding on 20 January 2022. The signatories for the MoU
were UTAR President Ir Prof Dr Ewe Hong Tat and Sichuan Hongbo Vocational
High School Principal Ren Xiwen.

In his remarks, Prof Ewe said, “The cooperation between UTAR and Sichuan Hongbo Vocational High School would be of far-reaching significance. It would actively promote cooperation between the two in terms of education and talents cultivation. The international students can broaden their international perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of Malaysia.
He also said that the University can facilitate educational exchanges with Sichuan Hongbo Vocational High School through cooperation such as staff and student exchanges, visits, lectures, seminars and workshops.
“I hope that we can continue to cultivate professionals in various
industries in the future,” he said, adding that the University will continue
to cultivate professional talents with high integrity and competitiveness
and make important contributions to the country's economic and social
development.

On the other hand, Ren gave an introduction on the background of
Sichuan Hongbo Vocational High School. He also expounded on the significance
of cooperation with UTAR for the future development of the school. He
expressed his heartfelt wishes for the future development of the school’s
students towards internationalisation and further success.
Also present at the ceremony were International Student Service
Center Director Tao Ran, Sichuan Hongbo Vocational High School Vice
Principal Zhou Jian, and representatives from both institutions.
