ViTrox donates to UTAR Education Foundation

In line with their corporate social responsibility effort to support education initiatives, ViTrox donated a total of RM400,000 to UTAR Education Foundation during ViTrox Annual Dinner 2022, held on 18 July 2022 in Penang.

On behalf of UTAR Education Foundation, the donation was received by UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat.

Prof Ewe enthused, “Thank you very much for your years of great support and encouragement to UTAR. We at UTAR sincerely value your constant support in the University’s endeavour to offer quality and affordable education to the young people of the country. On behalf of UTAR, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to your esteemed Foundation for pledging RM300,000.00 as a scholarship to support underprivileged and talented UTAR students and also as funding for research projects in the engineering field, especially for work-based learning courses. Besides that, I am extremely grateful too for your pledge of RM100,000.00 for two years to co-organise the newly established Annual MV+AI+Robotic Nationwide Competition for tertiary students in the country.”

The Managing Director/President/CEO of ViTrox, Chu Jenn Weng said, “ViTrox is determined to make a positive influence in the community through our corporate conscience programmes, such as charity donations and corporate social responsibility programmes. Over the years, ViTrox has taken many concrete steps in helping our people and giving back to our society through various upskilling and uplifting activities.” He added, “We strive to amplify our commitments and purposes in contributing to the advancement of the society and well-being of humankind.”

The ViTrox Foundation was set up on 12 April 2021 as the philanthropic arm of the ViTrox Group. Through the foundation, ViTrox aims to contribute more to the community by giving a hand to the vulnerable population in the community and supporting quality education.

UTAR and world-leading automated machine vision inspection solution provider ViTrox Corporation Berhad inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at UTAR Kampar Campus on 8 May 2019. The MoU between UTAR and ViTrox aimed for a spectrum of purposeful and meaningful projects ranging from collaborative research and sharing of expertise to enrichment and upskilling initiatives.
