Delegates from the Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and
Human Development (FCSHD) of the University of Malaysia, Sarawak (UNIMAS)
visited UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 9 June 2022.
They were led by Deputy Dean for Research and
Commercialisation Dr Mohamad Hardyman Barawi. Accompanying him were
Postgraduate Programme Coordinator MSc HRD (by Coursework) Heng Chin Siong
and Postgraduate Programme Coordinator MSc Learning Sciences (by Coursework)
Mohd Hafizan bin Hashim.
The delegates were welcomed by Faculty of Accountancy
and Management (FAM) Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial
Training Dr Foo Meow Yee, Deputy Dean for Academic Development and
Undergraduate Programmes Dr Hen Kai Wah, Chairperson of Centre for
Entrepreneurial Sustainability Assoc Prof Dr Mohammad Falahat Nejadmahani,
Head of Centre for Curriculum Development and Innovation Ir Dr Teoh Hui
Chieh, Director of IT Infrastructure and Support Centre Chai Kam Weng and
FAM Department of Economics lecturer Dr Yogambigai Rajamoorthy.
With the aim of exchanging ideas and sharing
information about hybrid learning facilities, the meeting started with an
introductory video presentation from both universities. A discussion was
later held to exchange knowledge and expertise in administrating and
executing hybrid learning. Next, a campus tour was held for the delegates to
give them a glimpse of the facilities offered in UTAR.
“We would like to seek the good practice of UTAR in
improving UNIMAS’ hybrid learning facilities. We wish to implement this
practice at our university,” Dr Mohamad Hardyman said as he thanked UTAR for
the warm welcome and visit opportunity. UNIMAS also welcomed UTAR to visit
their campus at Kota Samarahan, Sarawak. Members of both universities also
expressed their intention to establish close ties in academic-related
matters in the future.
The visit came to an end with a wrap-up session.
