A student donating blood at the Multipurpose Hall
of Sungai Long Campus
In partnership with the National Blood Centre, UTAR First Aid Society, UTAR
Medical and Health Sciences Society and UTAR Department of Student Affairs
organised a Blood Donation Campaign from 14 to 15 February 2022 at the
Multipurpose Hall of UTAR Sungai Long Campus. The campaign was held over a
two-day period from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of donors plummeted. Thus, the UTAR
First Aid Society, UTAR Medical and Health Sciences Society, and the
Department of Student Affairs took the initiative to organise this campaign
to assist the National Blood Centre by urging UTAR freshmen to donate their
blood.
More than 100 donors, consisting of UTAR staff and students, stepped forward
to contribute to this good cause. The Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
were also strictly observed throughout the campaign period which included
the wearing of face masks, sanitising and physical distancing.
