Experiencing the joy of learning math and science at MSF 2022

The working committee of MSF 2022

The Mathematics and Science Fair 2022 (MSF 2022) has finally returned to provide exposure to fellow students on STEM knowledge after enduring a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The fair, which was organised by UTAR Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) of Sungai Long Campus on 1 November 2022, saw Science Stream students setting up stations that included games and simple experiments to offer students a fun hands-on experience while teaching them new knowledge.

“MSF 2022 aims to achieve the target of recycling, which is under SDG 12, Sustainable Production & Consumption,” said MSF 2022 Organising Chairperson, who is also CFS Sungai Long Campus academic Tan Chun Yuan.

Melissa Stefanie Netto at her closing remark

CFS (Sungai Long Campus) Director Melissa Stefanie Netto, in her closing remark, thanked the committee members for their efforts in putting the event together and making it successful. She mentioned that an event such as this is important to advance the country’s initiative towards the growth of STEM. “STEM is important for the future of the economy.  It is important in today’s world, so advancing the importance of STEM is important for UTAR as well. All of you who are the present here today are the future of STEM. Remember the future lies ahead on you,” said Melissa.
