The screening, which was conducted via hybrid mode, featured Prevail Productions Sdn Bhd Founder and Producer, and Sunway University lecturer Umashankari Yomarakuro who directed the film, ‘Can’t Run, Can’t Hide’. The film secured the Freedom Film Festival (FFN) Grant 2021. Another highlight of the session was a presentation by Pua Lay Peng, who is a chemical engineer, environmental activist and frontline defender against plastic pollution in Malaysia.

The documentary focused on the heavy industrialisation around the Kuala Langat area which led to illegal activities by factories. Several types of pollution caused by the factories have seriously affected the residents of Kuala Langat. Umashankari shared her experience and the purpose of producing the documentary while Pua explained the statistics and news about the E-waste and plastic waste imported by Malaysia.
