Informative talk on online scam

On 2 November 2022, UTAR Department of Student Affairs (DSA) Kampar organised a talk titled “Online scam” at A003, Heritage Building, UTAR Kampar Campus. Invited to give the talk were Batu Gajah District Police Headquarters Inspector Mohd Fazli and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Perak Deputy Director Ts Abdullah Hayyan Kunji Mohammed.

Also present at the event were Kampar District Police Headquarters Inspector Chan Zhi Bin, Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) Perak Treasurer and MCPF Ipoh District Secretary Chung Kok Heung. Some 31 participants consisting of students and staff from UTAR attended the insightful talk.

Besides enlightening participants on the different types of online scams and how to prevent them, the talk also provided participants with some effective steps to take if they have fallen for any online scams.

All in all, the all-inclusive and enlightening talk successfully spurred the participants to be alert about online scams.

The talk ended with a Q&Asession, a souvenir presentation session and a group photo session.
