PC on Caring and Sharing Concert in Aid of UTAR Hospital

The organising chairman of the Caring and Sharing Concert, Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik, held a press conference on 14 October 2022 at the UTAR Sungai Long Campus multi-purpose hall.

Organised to raise funds for UTAR Hospital, the concert is titled Caring and Sharing Concert in Aid of UTAR Hospital and is organised by UTAR Chancellor Tun Dr Ling, the Caring and Sharing Singers and Mr Chow Kam Leong in collaboration with Aniu and Yise Loo as the special guest artiste. UTAR students from the Chinese Orchestra, Music Club and the Dance Club will also be performing at the concert. The concert will be held on 29 October 2022 at Dewan Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik in UTAR Kampar Campus at 1pm.

At the press conference, Aniu gave a song performance as a sneak preview to the concert. He was accompanied by UTAR students from the UTAR Sungai Long Chinese Orchestra. Aniu’s own musicians also accompanied him on stage.

At the press conference, it was announced that Aniu is appointed as the UTAR Hospital Caring and Sharing Ambassador, and Tun Dr Ling presented to Aniu a rain stick musical instrument as a token of appreciation.

The proceeds from the Caring and Sharing Concert will go into the completion of the UTAR Hospital which is still short of RM70 million short. The total completion cost of the hospital is estimated to be RM330 million and the date of completion is expected to be the first quarter of 2023.

Tun Dr Ling said that, “UTAR Hospital will provide affordable quality specialist medical and health services in both Western and Traditional Medicine to the public. It is a not-for-profit private hospital owned by the UTAR Education Foundation and it is built with donations from generous philanthropists, donors, corporations, organisations, businessmen, individuals and people from all segments of society.

This concert is a big collaborative effort that has taken months of preparations involving the guest artists, Caring and Sharing Singers, organisers and UTAR staff and students. We encourage everyone to support the concert and donate to the hospital.”

Aniu said that for the concert on 29 October, he will dance together with UTAR Dance Club students for a special performance, and he promised everyone a good show in support of the hospital fund-raising.

The concert tickets are available through donations from as low as RM20 to RM300 in different seating zones. Donors can also donate any amount to the hospital over and above the ticket prices.

Also present at the press conference were Toh Puan Ena Ling, UTAR Education Foundation Board of Trustees Chairman Tan Sri Sak Cheng Lum, Puan Sri Sak, UTAR Council member Datuk Lim Si Cheng, UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat. UTAR Vice-President Prof Dr Choong Chee Keong, Mr Chow Kam Leong, and UTAR Education Foundation secretary, Mr Ong Whee Tiong.

At the end of the press conference, LBS Bina Group Bhd executive chairman Tan Sri Lim Hock San handed a RM250,000 cheque to Tun Dr Ling as donation to UTAR Hospital. Engtex Group Bhd director Tan Sri Tee Tiam Lee donated RM50,00 as well to the hospital.

The press event ended with a charity lunch at UTAR Sungai Long Campus KA Block.
