Mind Your Brain Series: The Experiential Brain

UTAR Centre for Corporate and Community Development (CCCD) continued the Mind Your Brain Series with another webinar titled “The Experiential Brain Second Peak: Your Life Values at this Age” on 12 October 2022. It was held over Zoom and Facebook.

Invited to present the webinar once again was Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Life Coach and Trainer at Extraordinary Enterprise Pty Ltd, Chokmun Soong, whilst moderating the talk was Chairperson of UTAR Centre for Research on Non-Communicable Diseases Prof Dr John Paul Evangel Judson.

Chok kicked off the talk by advising the participants, “You should take stock of your life by looking at your successes, no matter how small or big they are. Everyone has had different successes in their lives at different ages, such as having a driving license at 18 years old or making money at 30 years old.” He added, “For the first half of your life, which is the first 50 years of your life, you should be looking at how your goals changed over time. Not only that, looking back at career achievements and the lessons you have learned over your lifetime should be done too.”

Chok then talked about looking at the second half of one’s life. “As you go past 50 years old, you’re in the second phase of your life, which is when you start focusing on your position in life and the important things in your life. For instance, a lot of people past the age of 50 would look at health, family, finances, career, etc.,” said Chok. Finally, he inspired and motivated the participants, “You should look at who or what you want to be at the age you are, and the necessary steps to reach it. You need to also ask yourself why you want to be the thing you are aiming for, what it means to you and how it will impact your life. Lastly, act on the values that you hold near and dear to your heart and become the person that you want to be.”

The webinar ended with a short Q&A session.
