A group of delegates from Warmadewa University (UNWAR), Indonesia paid a
visit to Sungai Long Campus on 7 October 2022. The delegates were Head of
Korpri Bali Foundation Dr Anak Agung Gede Oka Wisnumurti, UNWAR Vice Rector
Dr Ir I Wayan Parwata, Faculty of Engineering and Planning Dean Prof Dr Ir I
Wayan Runa, Faculty of Engineering and Planning Vice Dean Dr I Nyoman Nuri
Arthana, Postgraduate Program Vice Director Dr Ni Made Jaya Senastri, and
Architecture Head I Nyoman Gede Maha Putra. They were accompanied by UNWAR
staff and students.
Welcoming them were Division of Community and International Networking
Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Oon, Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering
and Science (LKC FES) Dean Assoc Prof Ts Dr Yap Wun She, LKC FES Deputy Dean
for Student Development and Industrial Training Assoc Prof Ts Dr Lee Kim
Yee, Head of Department of Architecture and Sustainable Design Ts Dr Tan Kok
Hong, Centre for Extension Education (CEE) Director Assoc Prof Ir Dr Lim Jee
Hock, Department of Student Affairs (DSA) Head of Sungai Long Campus Loh
Nyuk Leung and Department of Soft Skills and Competency (DSSC) Head of
Sungai Long Campus Fook Oi Yee.
Aimed at discussing opportunities for future collaboration, the meeting
commenced with the presentation of the UTAR corporate video to enhance the
delegates’ understanding of the overall development of the University. Next,
Dr Lai, Dr Yap, Dr Lim, Loh and Fook shared detailed information about UTAR,
LKC FES, CEE, DSA and DSSC respectively. Warmadewa
University, on the other hand, also presented their corporate video and
documentation of their joint workshop titled “Bambu”.
I Nyoman Gede Maha Putra said, “This is my second time visiting UTAR. We
have a good collaboration with UTAR. I hope in future we could explore more
areas of collaboration in the field of Architecture and Accounting.”

In the mid of discussion
An in-depth discussion was then carried out between the two parties
regarding possible collaborations which included a student mobility
programme, collaborative research, collaboration in a bamboo workshop, a
study tour, etc. Both parties looked forward to furthering collaboration in
the future.
The meeting ended with a souvenir exchange and a hand-over certificate
ceremony presented by Dr Yap to UNWAR students, followed by a campus tour to
the Architecture Exhibition area, Architecture Studios, LKC FES Lab, and the
Library.
