More than RM44,000 were raised by Pertubuhan Kebajikan Abad Ke-21 Selangor
dan Kuala Lumpur at the Charity Golf Tournament
UTAR Hospital Charity Golf Tournament, organised by Pertubuhan
Kebajikan Abad Ke-21 Selangor dan Kuala Lumpur for the purpose of raising
funds for UTAR Hospital, gathered more than 100 golf enthusiasts on 21 October
2022 at Staffield Country Resort. The tournament successfully raised more
than RM44,000.
In addition to the amount raised at the tournament, UTAR Hospital
also received an additional donation of RM5,000 and RM3,000 from Taiyoh
Office Supplies Sdn Bhd and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Abad Ke-21 Selangor dan
Kuala Lumpur respectively.
Present at the event were Pertubuhan Kebajikan Abad Ke-21 Selangor
dan Kuala Lumpur Honorary Advisor Dato Joseph Lee, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Abad
Ke-21 Selangor dan Kuala Lumpur

Representing UTAR to receive the donations at the event was UTAR
Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations Prof Dr Choong
Chee Keong.
Prof Choong thanked Pertubuhan Kebajikan Abad Ke-21 Selangor dan
Kuala Lumpur, the sponsors and
donors for their generosity and said, “Besides providing medical services,
this Hospital will also provide education and training for medical students
and conduct medical research for the advancement of medicine and healthcare.
In addition, it will provide many job opportunities for the local and
surrounding community. The Hospital will also create more socioeconomic
activities that will eventually develop the town and promote growth. The
construction of the Hospital will cost RM330million and UTAR seeks the
support of the community to participate in our fundraising efforts.”
Chong said that the tournament brought together diverse groups of
people with charitable spirits. “There’s never a perfect time to give. I
thank everyone present here today for taking part in the UTAR Hospital
Charity Golf Tournament. The construction of UTAR Hospital has commenced and
it is scheduled to complete soon; it will soon be ready for its operation. I
feel blessed because we will be able to help people who are in need when the
Hospital is ready.”
Apart from the mock cheque presentation, the event also witnessed a
prize-giving ceremony where the competition results were announced. Among
the event sponsors were Taiyoh Office Supplies Sdn Bhd, GBA Corporation Sdn
Bhd, Simon Tan from Carlsberg Marketing Sdn Bhd and Saw Chit Boon.
