6th Go as One Carnival celebrates 65th Merdeka

Go as ONE Carnival 6.0 was held on 8 September 2022 in hybrid mode at Sungai Long Campus and via Facebook Live to commemorate Malaysia’s 65th Merdeka celebration, promote unity, create connections and create awareness of the Kibarkan Jalur Gemilang campaign among the UTAR community and members of the public.

Organised by the Department of Student Affairs of Sungai Long Campus, the carnival saw various exciting activities, food and beverages booths, performances, traditional and modern games as well as competitions such as Merdeka Singing Competition and Henna Competition, Colouring Competition, Chinese Calligraphy Competition, Photography Competition and Digital Poster Design Competition that were open to UTAR students, staff and the public.

The champions of each competition received a cash prize of RM120, while the first runner-up winners received RM70 each. Second runner-up winners received RM50 each and consolation winners each received RM30.
