UTAR holds discussion with TSMC

A hybrid meeting was held between UTAR and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Ltd (TSMC) on 9 September 2022.

Among the delegates from TSMC were Senior Director of Advanced Packaging Team Lee Kam Heng, Department Manager of Advanced Technology and Mask Engineering Edwin Tan (Chen), Manager of Talent Acquisition Division Dr Claudia Lin and HR Specialist of Talent Acquisition Division Verna Su.

The delegates were welcomed by UTAR Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min, Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial Training Assoc Prof Ts Dr Lee Kim Yee, Director of Division of Community and International Networking (DCInterNet) Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn, Senior Assistant Manager of Department of Alumni Relations and Placement Lee Wan Poh and UTAR staff. Also joining from UTAR Kampar Campus via video conference were Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology (FEGT) lecturer Ts Dr Lee Han Kee.

The meeting aimed to build rapport and reinforce areas of collaboration between UTAR and TSMC. It also aimed to discuss opportunities for future collaboration.

During the meeting

The meeting commenced with both parties walking through respective corporate profiles and updates, followed by an in-depth discussion on potential industry-academia collaboration, industrial placement, sharing of expertise and joint research projects, staff and student exchanges, student recruitment, etc. Both parties were looking forward to furthering collaboration in the future.

The meeting ended with a souvenir exchange and a group photography session.
